The team of Shaun Petersen, Mark Davies, and Brett Pryde are the Very Best Award winners for delivery following their hard work during the largest shutdown event on APLNG. The trio’s leadership and hard work ensured the project was successfully completed.

It involved nearly 450 UGL personnel working more than 110,000 labour hours, plus 113 specialist subcontract personnel. The team took onboard knowledge from the previous shutdown which was pivotal to ensuring a smooth process. A covid-19 plan also meant a minimal impact on the workforce as local infections began to rise. The hand-back went off without a hitch, in fact it occurred three days early!

The success of this is extremely important as shutdown events are vital in setting APLNG up for reliable and stable future operations.

UGL provides downstream maintenance, shutdown, and modification projects to ConocoPhillips on behalf of Australia Pacific Liquified Natural Gas (APLNG) at the Gladstone Liquified Natural Gas Facility on Curtis Island, off the North Queensland coast.
