UGL Rail and UGL Infrastructure offers a comprehensive suite of infrastructure design and build capabilities including signalling and communications systems. Major rail infrastructure projects recently completed, or in progress include; Regional Fast Rail for the Victorian Department of Infrastructure (DOI), the Epping to Chatswood Rail Link and Revesby Turn-back for the New South Wales Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation and the “TrackStar Alliance’ in Queensland, which is currently delivering $1.4 billion in rail infrastructure projects for QR.

Our infrastructure asset management value proposition is based on a customer focused platform that includes measurement and reporting on physical infrastructure performance. This is best demonstrated at MainCo/ UMTL in Melbourne, Victoria which conducts a variety of asset management services for the entire metropolitan railway network infrastructure, as well as the Comeng, Hitachi and X’TRAPOLIS® passenger rolling stock fleets.

MainCo's infrastructure responsibilities include track, electrical substations, signalling, (including level crossing protection) communications systems, central train control facilities such as (Metrol and Electrol) and the network’s computer and passenger information display systems.

MainCo also looks after a variety of other rail infrastructure such as bridges, tunnels, lifts, escalators and train stations.
