UGL is designing and constructing the White Rock 20MWDC Solar Farm in the New England Tablelands of New South Wales for Goldwind Australia.
UGL will deliver the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and commissioning for the fixed racking system solar farm. Goldwind Australia’s White Rock development is a pioneering hybrid solar/wind renewable energy facility for the New England Tablelands.
At the substation UGL is responsible for integrating the high voltage and low voltage power, controlling and monitoring systems into the existing substation, ensuring minimal disturbance to the energised network.
On completion UGL will operate and maintain the solar farm for an initial two-year period.
Once commissioned the solar farm is expected to generate 46,000 megawatt hours of electricity, enough to supply the equivalent of 8,000 average New South Wales homes.
