The health and safety of our work environments – for our people and our clients, subcontractors, suppliers, visitors and wider communities – are paramount to everything we do.

This starts with equipping our people with the skills, systems and processes they need to uphold best practice in all areas of delivery.

It also means creating a culture where individuals are encouraged to take personal responsibility, empowered to speak up and supported by teams that understand and believe in the central importance of health and safety.

We also emphasise proactive, visible leadership committed to creating and maintaining healthy and safe workplaces.

At UGL, this includes the mental and emotional health and wellbeing of our people and those we engage with, as much as it includes safety in design and delivery.

trackSAFE Foundation

trackSAFE Foundation

We are proud to be a founding member of the trackSAFE Foundation; a harm-prevention charity dedicated to reducing near collisions, injuries and fatalities on the rail network resulting from suicide, reckless behaviour and human error.

Established in 2012 by UGL in conjunction with the Australasian Railway Association, TrackSAFE offers trauma-related support to rail workers and specialises in rail suicide prevention, as well as level crossing and track safety.

TrackSAFE coordinates the annual community awareness initiative –Rail Safety Week– held in August each year, designed to engage the community in safe rail practices.
