Kate Davie - Junior Project Manager
Kate Davie is a Junior Project Manager at UGL's rail site in Broadmeadow.
"My role is to coordinate with functional representatives, for example project management, operations, engineering, and supply chain to assist in the delivery of project outcomes.
"I joined UGL because they had numerous new build freight projects in execution at the Broadmeadow site and the pipeline was strong due to the Hunter being the biggest coal producing region in New South Wales at that time. Since joining over ten years ago, I have been involved in the successful delivery of over 60 new build locomotives, locomotive upgrades and overhauls."
First day at UGL
"I recall feeling overwhelmed and slightly terrified due to the volume of people I was introduced that day. It was a shock to the system coming from a mostly female dominated travel industry, but everyone was friendly and welcoming."
What I love about my role at UGL
"Working with supportive groups of people. I love the variety of work; every day is different and brings us new challenges to face as a team. "
Working at UGL
"If someone was considering a career at UGL I would say take the opportunity if it presents itself. Speaking from my own personal experience, UGL have provided a variety of opportunities over the years to assist with my professional development that I am very grateful for.
"UGL also accommodated a 4-day flexible working arrangement to ensure I could maintain a good work-life balance when I returned from maternity leave."
