Doug Moss
Managing Director
Doug joined UGL in 2018 to lead the Transport and Technology Division and was appointed as Managing Director in 2020. With more than 25 years in management positions in the infrastructure industry, Doug brings a wealth of expertise in construction and operations and maintenance as well as extensive knowledge across the telecommunications, transport, water, property, power, industrial and resources sectors throughout Australia.Doug joined UGL from Lendlease where he held the role of Managing Director of Lendlease Services Pty Limited. Prior to Lendlease, Doug held senior roles in the Thiess Services business for over 20 years, successfully growing the utilities, telecommunications, transportation and remediation businesses, and moving Thiess into long term operations and maintenance contracts in water, transport and hospitals through a number of major Private Public Partnerships. -

Derek Kerr
Chief Financial Officer
Derek was appointed as UGL's Chief Financial Officer in January 2021. Having spent over 5 years in the CIMIC Group serving most recently as the Executive General Manager, Finance. Derek has led the CIMIC finance team through significant transformation and the integration of new businesses, including the CIMIC Groups’ acquisition of UGL in 2016 and the divestment of 50% of Thiess in 2020.Prior to joining the Group, Derek was a Director at Deloitte where he spent over a decade working in both Australia and the UK, specialising in the construction, mining and utilities sectors.
Derek holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accountancy and Economics from the University of Strathclyde and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales. -

Michael Degotardi
Chief Operating Officer
Michael was appointed as UGL's Chief Operating Officer in 2020 after leading governance and risk across the business since 2014.
Michael is vastly experienced having held senior executive and project management positions in the general contracting and infrastructure sectors of the construction industry for over 30 years.In addition to his current role, Michael is also Chair of Australian Terminal Operations Pty Ltd (a joint venture between BP Australia and UGL), Chair of UGL Unipart Pty. Ltd. (a joint venture between Unipart and UGL) and Chair of the Inpex MEC-1 Contractor Steering Committee (a joint venture between Kentz and UGL). Previously, he was Group General Manager – Commercial at Tenix, held key senior executive positions at St Hillier’s and is a recipient of various industry awards.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Building from the University of New South Wales and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Joseph Louis
Executive General Manager, Projects
Joseph joined UGL in 2016 as General Manager, Major Projects and was appointed as Executive General Manager, Projects in 2022. Joseph has over 22 years’ project delivery experience and has worked in hydropower, nuclear power, water supply and sewage treatment projects, tunnelling, roads/ bridges, heavy haul freight, metro rail and suburban rail, managed motorways and MEC/ rail technology projects. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in project work winning and delivery gained by holding senior management positions.Before joining UGL, Joseph worked with tier 1 contractors in Australia, Middle East and India in various project management roles. He has substantial international experience having worked in five countries in various infrastructure sectors. His experience spans large PPP/ D&C/ O&M/ alliance projects across major infrastructure including Sydney Metro and Cross River Rail.
Joseph is a graduate civil engineer from Bangalore University, with Post Graduate in Advanced Construction Management. He also holds Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership from University of Queensland. -

Sam Goldsmith
Executive General Manager, Services
Sam joined UGL in 2018 and was appointed as Executive General Manager, Services in 2022. Sam was previously the General Manager Oil & Gas (East).
Since 2021, Sam has been the champion and Chair of UGL's Reconciliation Action Plan journey and commitments.Sam has 20 years’ experience with various international and Australian contracting companies supporting the delivery engineering, projects, maintenance and turnaround contracts across the hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, mining and minerals processing sectors.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical), a Bachelor of Science from Adelaide University and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ian Quarrie
Executive General Manager, Transport
Ian joined UGL in 2017 to establish and grow the Transport Operations business. He was appointed Executive General Manager for the Transport Division in 2022 and is responsible for all operational, maintenance and manufacturing activities that UGL perform in the Transport sector.Ian’s career commenced in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia. He has over 25 years of leadership experience in the delivery of both economic and social infrastructure, and the accompanying operations and maintenance contracts. -

Deva Mylvaganam
Executive General Manager, Special Projects
Deva has over 30 years’ international experience across landmark infrastructure projects in Australia, the Middle-East and Africa. Deva joined UGL in 2012 and has held senior leadership positions, playing a key role in winning and delivering complex infrastructure projects.Landmark projects include Sydney Metro Northwest, NorthConnex, EastWestLink, Clem 7, AirportLink and the Epping to Chatswood Rail Link. Prior to joining UGL, Deva held leadership roles with Tameer (Al Rajhi Group) in Dubai, Emoleum (Exxon Mobil company), Barclay Mowlem and Gyado Group in Nigeria. Deva is a Civil engineer with qualifications from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, UK.

Meg Abaldonado
Executive General Manager, People & Culture
Meg joined UGL in 2019 as the General Manager, People & Culture for Corporate and was appointed Executive General Manager, People in 2020 leading the people & culture and communications functions. Meg brings more than 15 years of human resource management experience across a diverse range of industries from telecommunications, global IT, FMCG and services.Prior to joining UGL, Meg was the General Manager of People & Performance at Ingham's and helped them through their IPO process to becoming a publicly listed company on the ASX. Meg has held other senior management positions including managing the remuneration and benefits function for the Asia Pacific region across 9 countries. She holds a Master of Management from MGSM and a Bachelor of Business and Commerce majoring in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. -

Stephen Barrett-White
General Counsel
Stephen Barrett-White joined UGL in 2006 until 2010 and returned in 2014. Stephen oversees all legal functions of UGL.Stephen is responsible for providing strategic legal advice to enable UGL to achieve its commercial objectives and to manage legal risk in compliance with applicable laws, including those arising from contracts, projects, compliance, governance, operations and procurement.
Stephen has over 27 years’ experience in infrastructure and engineering and 20 years’ experience in construction and general commercial law. Stephen has a very strong knowledge of the law relating to engineering contracts and the law and corporate governance requirements impacting on companies operating in the engineering, infrastructure and construction sphere.
Prior to re-joining UGL in 2014, he held the position of General Counsel for Veolia Water (Australia and New Zealand), part of the French-based Veolia Group.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons) from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).
