UGL was awarded a contract by Shoalhaven City Council as part of Stage 1B of the Council's Reclaimed Water Management Scheme (REMS).
REMS 1B is the single biggest public works project to be undertaken by Shoalhaven City Council and will see reclaimed water from the Nowra and Bomaderry Sewage Treatment Plants connect to the existing scheme.
Connecting reclaimed water from the upgraded Nowra and Bomaderry sewage treatment plants to the REMS distribution system will effectively double the daily reclaimed water supply managed by the scheme and made available to the communities in Nowra and Bomaderry.
We are delivering:
- upgrades to the Nowra and Bomaderry sewage treatment plants
- the design and construction of a pipeline under the Shoalhaven River that will connect the Bomaderry sewage treatment plant to the Nowra sewage treatment plant
Our scope of work includes:
- design services
- project management
- procurement
- construction
- control system integration
- environmental management
- commissioning
Shoalhaven City Council’s Reclaimed Water Management Scheme (REMS) provides for the collection and storage of treated reclaimed water and its application to agricultural land and sports grounds, with most of the land lying on the floodplain between Nowra and the coast. Significant infrastructure is already in place to collect reclaimed water from St. Georges Basin, Huskisson/Vincentia, Culburra, and Callala Wastewater Treatment Plants. The collected reclaimed water is transferred to participating irrigation areas via a transfer and distribution system.
