Family and Friends Day

The Transport for NSW M6 Stage 1 Delivery Partner team recently hosted a Family and Friends Day which was a great opportunity to showcase our project to more than 400 employees and their families.

Aunty Yvonne opened the day with a Welcome to Country and Project Director, Glen Ashton then welcomed guests to the Bicentennial Park temporary site.

The day included food, entertainment, activities, and giveaways in a fun atmosphere, and it was carefully planned to engage a number of Indigenous and social enterprise businesses as well as raising $430 in gold coin donations for the Cancer Council.

There was plenty of fun for all ages with both young and young at heart getting up close to our plant equipment. Kid's safety vests and hard hats were in high demand with many also enjoying getting their faces painted.

Hands on activities were available at the engineering and environmental displays and included building a 'Leaning Tower of pasta' out of spaghetti and marshmallows and matching animals to the environment. Colouring in, an animal farm, assembling cardboard roadheaders or rock painting were also popular.

Attendees walked away with more of an understanding about the project, our values, and recognise it as a great project to be part of and a great place to work.
