“Just like putting on sunscreen when its sunny or going to the doctor when you don’t feel well, it’s normal to talk about mental health and seek help early.” Matthew Routledge, UGL Construction Manager.
Safety underpins everything we do at UGL and we prioritise not only the physical safety of our employees but also their mental wellbeing.
This year, our project team @Neoen Australia’s Collie Battery embraced this commitment by marking R U OK? Day with a focus on mental wellbeing.
The team at Project 365, delivered an insightful presentation on positive mental health and Sandra O’Shea from Gryphon also joined the session to discuss the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that all employees and their immediate families have access to.
A key takeaway from the day was the importance of normalising conversations around mental health. By making mental health discussions part of our everyday dialogue, we help foster a supportive and understanding work environment where employees feel comfortable seeking help and checking in on one another.
At UGL, we are dedicated to supporting our employees both at work and beyond. Our EAP offers free, confidential, and voluntary support 24/7 to all CIMIC Group employees and their immediate families. This service ensures that our people have access to the care they need, whenever they need it.
