As part of UGL's ongoing commitment to community and environmental sustainability, Environment Advisor Renee Brown-Hincksman is leading efforts to support the W.R.A.P.T (Wallabies Roo’s and Possums Townsville) organisation. While working on the Genex Kidston Connection Project in North Queensland, Renee is helping the charity by donating expired first aid equipment and helping to raise funds for injured wildlife.
W.R.A.P.T charity helps with the rescue, care, and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife in the Townsville region of Far North Queensland. The donations from UGL will not only raise awareness and much needed funds for W.R.A.P.T, but also provide direct support to Linley Ogston, a local wildlife carer in Greenvale, Queensland. Linley has been a dedicated member of the organisation for over 40 years, caring for sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, including birds, possums, wallabies, and kangaroos.
UGL’s fundraising efforts have enabled to gift Linley a humidicrib (incubator), a critical piece of medical equipment costing upwards of $3500, which will enable her to care for more vulnerable and younger wildlife. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards W.R.A.P.T and Linley's efforts.
When asked about the impact of UGL's donations, Linley shared, "You are going to save a lot of lives. It will give us the opportunity to save the younger babies. Save more than what we can save right now."
UGL's partnership with W.R.A.P.T and support for Linley Ogston highlight our dedication to environmental care and community support. Through donations and fundraising initiatives, UGL is helping to ensure the rescue, care, and rehabilitation of native wildlife, making a lasting positive impact on the Townsville region.
