At UGL, our commitment to innovation and excellence drives us to enhance sustainable mobility, including smart railways, to ensure improved connectivity, reliability, maintainability, and asset life for transport networks.
Central to this effort is Integra®, UGL’s advanced suite of integrated Operations Management Control Systems (OMCS) software applications, catering to multiple market verticals.
Integra closes the loop on UGL’s end-to-end solution. We provide clients with project certainty from scope and engineering design, construction, operations and maintenance services through to integration of control systems for transport.
“Our engineers get to be a part of the entire lifecycle of a project,” says Head of Engineering- Technology Jayesh Billimoria. “They get to work on the tender, the design, the procurement, then they’re involved in the installation and commissioning. This allows them to use the feedback from commissioning on what could be improved on, and the next project, it’s incorporated into the design.”
Built on UGL’s 30+ years of system integration expertise, Integra seamlessly manages transport and utility networks, ensuring security, stability, speed, and scalability while providing real-time insights for efficient operations.
“Integra’s real-time condition monitoring provides our team with critical insights into the status of the train while they’re in operation,” Jayesh says. “Operators can track train statuses, anticipate imminent issues, and proactively schedule maintenance.”
This predictive approach minimises disruptions, ensuring continuous and efficient service for UGL’s clients.
This technology is deployed across various high-profile projects, demonstrating its adaptability and impact. It enables precise monitoring and optimisation of complex rail networks, ensuring enhanced operational efficiency and reliability.
Performance and conditioning monitoring is being used on UGL’s Regional Rail project through the joint venture, Momentum Trains, which also includes fellow CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors.
On the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project Integra plays a crucial role in the Tunnel Ventilation Control System (TVCS) and Power Control System (PCS), covering:
- 31km of underground railway track from Chatswood to Sydenham
- overhead power equipment and 11 new substations
- installation of 350km of HV, LV, and tunnel service cabling
- three bulk supply points and associated traffic management
- high voltage and low voltage systems installation across seven underground stations
- open dive works for seamless railway integration at Chatswood.
Integra is the leading solution for modern transport management, seamlessly integrating and optimising complex infrastructures to enhance efficiency, reliability, and innovation. With the Integra team at UGL, we are not just managing transport networks - we are shaping the future of intelligent and sustainable mobility.
