What’s cooler than robots, experiments, and future-ready technology? At UGL, we believe that every child should have the chance to develop mind-blowing problem-solving skills, flex their creativity, and think like an innovator. That’s why we participate in AREEA’s Bright Future STEM program, helping students dive into the world of science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) in the most exciting way possible.
When UGL’s Melanie Weber presented at Calliope State School, she didn’t just give a talk, she brought the energy. Speaking to two groups of 60-70 eager primary school students, she shared insights about her role at UGL, what makes her work exciting and meaningful, how we make real-world impact at UGL, and some handy advice for students dreaming of a career in resources and energy.
Melanie also got hands-on with a STEM challenge called the Dr. Eureka game. Students put their coordination and strategy skills to the test by shifting coloured balls between clear tubes without dropping them, all to match a tricky challenge card. The result? Laughter, teamwork, and a whole lot of brainpower in action!
UGL is making sure children everywhere get a taste of the exciting world of STEM. By opening doors to future career possibilities and showing that learning can be a fun, we’re shaping the next generation of engineers, scientists, and tech wizards.
