UGL's brownfields project team has achieved an outstanding safety milestone in Gladstone, Queensland, having completed five years of work with zero harm at Shell QGC’s Curtis Island Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility. This milestone highlights UGL's commitment to safety, with 780,000 hours worked without injury across critical work scopes.
During this period, our team submitted 3,338 hazard and operability (HAZOB) studies, focusing on hazard removal to ensure personnel and process safety. This achievement shows the team's dedication to safety and best practices, with every decision made based on the conviction to stop work when something is not right or fully understood.
"This milestone reflects the team’s commitment to safety best practices. Their proactive approach sets the standard for success.” Dan Swatten, UGL Project Manager.
This five-year safety landmark is a great achievement for the UGL brownfields project team and our valued stakeholders. It is a reminder of the strength of collaboration and the power of a shared safety culture. At UGL, safety underpins everything we do, and this milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering projects with excellence, integrity, and above all, safety.
