One year into UGL’s strategic partnership with the Indigenous Defence and Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC), we are delivering what matters most: stronger outcomes for clients, greater opportunities for Indigenous businesses, and long-term value for communities.
iDiC is a single-point deployment, project, and account manager providing diverse services through its consortium of 140+ Indigenous partner businesses, including Wumara Group.
iDiC and Wumara Group are supporting UGL’s Fuel Network Contract for the Department of Defence by delivering pipeline surveying activities in the field. This work is now more than 90% complete and demonstrates how the iDiC partnership facilitates access to highly skilled and readily available Indigenous engineering service providers.
iDiC and Wumara Group work together to enhance project outcomes by pairing iDiC’s expertise with Wumara Group’s strong Indigenous engagement, open communication and efficient delivery. Close collaboration from tender through to delivery, creates practical benefits:
- Client value: competitive solutions, high quality execution, and seamless coordination with UGL’s Defence fuel's engineering and operations teams.
- Employment pathways: increased participation and strengthened job opportunities and pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
Beyond project delivery, UGL has partnered with Adam Goodes and iDiC to bring meaningful cultural engagement to our offices across Australia. Together, through in-person events aligned with National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week themes, we have helped deepen understanding, strengthen cultural capability, and equip our teams with practical strategies to better engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and businesses. The result is more informed teams, stronger relationships, and better outcomes across our projects and communities.
