UGL’s telecommunications team plays a vital role in keeping Australians connected, delivering fixed, wireless and satellite services across the country. Through strong field operations, smart delivery models and close client collaboration, the team supports reliable telecommunications outcomes, especially for Australia’s regional and remote communities who depend on these services the most.
During a recent project site visit, Con Kourtis, UGL General Manager Telecommunications, acknowledged several team members for their significant service milestones and recent achievements.
“Our team keeps regional and remote Australians connected, travelling to some of the most isolated areas. Their efforts show how UGL supports communities across the country,” shares Con.
Recognising years of service
Three valued team members were celebrated for their long-standing dedication:
- 10 years - Victoria Lillie, Program Support Specialist
- 10 years - Lawrence Vella, Warehouse Leading Hand
- 5 years - Harshkumar (Harry) Raval, Support Engineer
Their work ensures customers remain connected, technicians are supported and operations stay strong every day.
"This recognition was a powerful reminder of where I started and how much I have grown," shared Victoria. “It was a lovely chance to reflect on all the great milestones and achievements we have had as a department over the years."
Celebrating performance
Con also acknowledged two standout team members for their important contributions to the telecommunications team.
Gary Marsden - Service Delivery Lead
Gary demonstrated exceptional compassion and diligence during the recent Victorian bushfire by personally contacting technicians in affected regions to ensure their safety. He also proactively arranged alternative job schedules to support their wellbeing.
"Recognition is always appreciated, especially when it comes from peers and leaders,” explains Gary. “Working in such a fast‑paced environment, it is important to pause and acknowledge the great work being done."
Cayleigh Cousins - Quality Assurance and Invoicing Officer
Cayleigh was recognised for consistently delivering strong results and proactively resolving outstanding contractor tasks. She collaborates closely with operations to streamline site returns, improve contractor experience and enhance customer outcomes. Her introduction of new tracking tools along with her work in assessing safer ladder-securing equipment reflects her commitment to better systems and safer working environments.
"I care deeply about helping our contractors and improving how we work, so knowing that effort makes a difference and is appreciated feels really rewarding,” expressed Cayleigh.
As we celebrate these achievements, we are reminded that UGL’s strength comes from its people. With a culture that supports growth, strong teams and meaningful career pathways, UGL continues to recognise and support the individuals who help shape our success.
