CIMIC Group 2020 Graduate of the Year award winners

Our 2020 CIMIC Group Graduate of the Year award winners are Mason McManus, Thiess for excellence in a functional discipline (Legal) and Vishnu Arun, UGL for excellence in engineering.


The winners, selected from a group of 11 finalists, were announced by CIMIC Group Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Juan Santamaria at our annual graduate program graduation. 


The virtual event celebrated the 225 graduates who joined our award winning program in 2019, and are now stepping straight into the next phase of their career journey with CIMIC Group. Congratulations.

CIMIC Group Graduate of the Year - Functional (Legal), 2020

Mason McManus, Graduate Legal, holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Supply Chain) and Bachelor of Laws with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. In his supply chain and legal roles with Thiess Mason has made an outstanding contribution to workplace delivery and culture.

Amongst his outstanding achievements, Mason assisted with the drafting and negotiation of a complex variation, performed exemplary cross-functional work in compliance and risk mitigation, supported Thiess’ legal team with preparing for the global impacts of COVID-19 and positively contributed to Thiess’ culture through his active involvement in launching Allies.

Mason displays professionalism in every aspect of his role.

CIMIC Group Graduate of the Year - Engineering, 2020

Vishnu Arun, Graduate Engineer Electrical, holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with Honours. In his design and delivery roles with UGL Vishnu has worked in the power and transport infrastructure sectors, actively living out our Principles to successfully influence technical solutions and project outcomes.

Amongst his outstanding achievements, Vishnu proactively developed multiple digital systems including a quality assurance system for a program of works and an automated drawing creation system.

Vishnu has proven himself to be an outstanding team member and an emerging leader.
