UGL will carry out the installation of a 35-megawatt one hour battery energy storage system (BESS) facility in Port Hedland, Western Australia, for client, APA.
Work on the project has begun, and it is anticipated to be finalised in late 2024.

UGL will provide the engineering design, testing and commissioning of the BESS, which consists of a battery storage and power conditioning system at the Port Hedland Power Station
Additionally, an extension to the existing high voltage infrastructure for the connection of the BESS.
