Employee recognition


The Very Best Awards is our internal employee recognition program.

It is a program where our people are nominated, and the winners chosen, by their peers. It provides an opportunity for our people to be recognised and celebrated across our internal and external channels, as well as giving them exposure to our executive leadership team.



Whether they are delivering work on our projects, or are part of our support functions, this is an opportunity to recognise the hard work and valued contribution, and for displaying the actions and behaviours that contribute towards UGL’s ongoing success.

How it works

All our employees can nominate as many individuals or teams as they like within UGL for displaying behaviours in any of the following categories:

  • Safety
  • Customers
  • Delivery
  • Culture
  • Innovation

All nominations are delivered to our executive leadership team who create a shortlist to pass on to our UGL ambassador group. Each quarter the ambassadors select winners from each category.
