In Edwin van Paassen’s five-year tenure at UGL, his finance roles have included working on large maintenance and construction projects, such as the Tarong shut down and CopperString projects.
What has been your journey at UGL?
“I started in the Services Division at UGL five years ago working in finance on large maintenance shut-down projects like Rio Tinto Yarwun and Tarong Power Plant. I then moved to the Projects Utilities team being part of projects like Hill to Hill. With the Hill-to-Hill development I managed the project’s financials. This included setting up the fuel tax rebate. Later I moved into a role managing a group of accountants that were working on a utilities project in Queensland. Since January 2024, I have been a part of the team for CopperString as one of the Project Finance Managers. It is a great company to work for as I have been part of some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects and have seen many remote parts of Australia.”
